Oriental Bank of Commerce is one of the leading public sector banks in the country. It was established during the year 1943 in Lahore. After partition all the branches in Pakistan were closed down and the registered office shifted to Amritsar. During the years 1970 to 1976, the profit of the bank took a nosedive and the owner of the bank the Thapar Group contemplated closing of the bank. But with the co-operation of the employees, the bank was able to come out of the situation.
The bank was nationalized in the year 1980 and was 19 in position among the country?s 20 nationalised banks. Two banks, Punjab Co-operative Bank and Bari Doab Bank were acquired by OBC. This merger did not change the number of branches of OBC. There was no looking back and OBC kept flourishing year after year. In 2010, among all public sector banks, it was the seventh largest in the country.
In the year 2004, Global Trust Bank which was a leading private sector bank was taken over by OBC. With the acquisition of this bank, the number of branches of OBC increased to 1092.

To apply for the Credit Card through the bank, you will have to visit the nearest branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce and submit the prescribed application form for Credit Card along with the required documents. The status of the credit card application will be up dated through SMS on your registered mobile number.

The following methods have been devised for the payment of Oriental Bank of Commerce Credit Card.
Auto-debit: The customers of Oriental Bank of Commerce can opt for auto-debit from their savings bank/current account for the payment of the credit card dues on the due date.
Internet banking: The customers of Oriental Bank of Commerce can make the credit card payment by logging in to the net banking facility with user ID and password.
Mobile App: The card payment can be done through the mobile App. of Oriental Bank of Commerce. The payment can be done either by IMPS, NEFT or transfer from the account.
NEFT/RTGS: If payment has to be done from other bank accounts, then NEFT/RTGS is the best option. The beneficiary account for NEFT/RTGS will be the 16-digit credit card number.
Cheque: Payment can be done through a cheque drawn on Oriental Bank of Commerce or on any other bank. The payee?s name should be the 16-digit credit card number. The name of the cardholder and the registered mobile number has to be mentioned on the reverse of the cheque.

The Easy Money Facility is a cash advance facility which you can opt for up to the cash limit on your credit card whenever in need of urgent funds. The cash advance will be delivered to your doorstep by way of a cheque or a draft. To avail this facility the credit card dues for the last 6 months must have been paid promptly. In other words, your track record in respect of credit card payment must be satisfactory.
The cash withdrawal limit is 40% of the credit limit and is restricted to 15000/- in a day.
The loss/theft of the card should be reported immediately to the customer care centre of the bank. The card will be blocked immediately to stop further transactions on the card. The Bank will not be responsible for the transactions that have taken place prior to the reporting of the card. The liability for the cardholder on the transactions that take place after blocking the card will be zero.
