Syndicate Bank was founded by Shri T M A Pai in the year 1925 in Udupi. The main objective of the bank was to provide financial assistance to the weavers who were at that time facing a challenge due to the crisis in the handloom industry. Way back the bank was popularly known as Canara Industrial and Banking Syndicate Limited. The bank was nationalised in the year 1969 along with 13 other major commercial banks by the Government of India. The headquarters of Syndicate Bank is in Manipal.
The bank that started with a capital of 8000/- has grown leaps and bounds in the 93 years of its existence. Prathama Bank in Moradabad district was the first Regional Rural Bank promoted in the year 1975 by Syndicate Bank. The bank expanded its business within India and also overseas. The following are the features of Syndicate Bank Credit Card
Cash withdrawal up to 15% of the credit limit for Classic Cards and 25% of the credit limit for gold Cards is permitted.
1 reward point will be given for every 400/- spent on the card.
The reward points can be redeemed for payment of renewal fee of the existing card or the points will be credited to the credit card account of the cardholder in multiples of 500 at 0.50 per reward point with a maximum redemption of 500 points.
No joining fee will be charged for both primary and add-on Classic Card and Gold Card.
The renewal fee is 300/- for the primary card of Classic Credit Card and RS. 150/- for the add-on card.
The renewal fee is 500/- for the primary card of Gold Credit Card and 250/- for the add-on card.

You will have to register for the net banking facility if you are a customer of Syndicate Bank. You will have to then log in using the User ID and Password. The payment can then be made using the funds transfer option.
ECS mandate has to be downloaded from the official website of the Bank and submitted in triplicate. The 9 -digit MICR code of the bank and branch as appearing on the MICR cheque has to be mentioned. You will have to then choose the payment option i.e., whether the entire outstanding balance in the statement or the minimum amount due as mentioned in the bill has to be paid.
You can then present the ECS mandate to the bank where you are maintaining an account. The signature of the cardholder on all the copies of the ECS mandate has to be authenticated by a competent authority of the bank where the account is maintained. Cash can be withdrawn to the extent of 15% of the credit limit for Classic Cards and up to 25% of the credit limit for Gold Cards.
The customers having housing loans, car loans, term deposits, pigmy deposits, Defence Personnel, and Judges are eligible for pre-approved credit cards. The relationship of the customers with the Bank is considered to issue the pre-approved credit cards.
10% of the outstanding amount in the billing statement is the minimum amount due that has to be paid on the due date.
The billing statement will be generated on the 20th of every month and has to be paid within the 10th of the succeeding month.
