  • Never note down your PIN anywhere. There are chances of misuse if it falls into the wrong hands.
  • If you feel that the PIN is compromised or anyone other than you has come to know the PIN, then you immediately reset the PIN.
  • It is recommended to change your PIN at regular intervals.
  • While resetting your PIN, do it wisely.
  • Do not share your PIN with even your close family members and even bank staff. If someone poses as a representative from the bank and asks for sensitive information like user ID and PIN, please do not divulge the information. Bank of Baroda or any other bank will not ask you to part with sensitive information that can breach the safety of the credit card.
  • The PIN chosen should not be important dates like anniversaries, date of birth, etc., which are very predictable.
  • Spoofing is a way of acquiring sensitive credit card related or bank account information fraudulently by posing to be from a reputed business organisation that genuinely needs this information for some really luring offers. Such information can be sought through email messages that seem very genuine. The message will lead to a link where personal information like credit card details, passwords, user ID, PIN etc. Do not fall prey to such electronic messages.
  • Ensure the credit card is swiped in your presence to avoid skimming devices duplicating your credit card details.
  • If you have multiple cards, do not have the same PIN for all the cards.
  • Do not save your credit card details on online shopping websites just to save the ordeal of entering the credit card details every time you shop or pay any bill. Theft of personal identity has become very easy these days, and you should never give scope for that to happen.
  • Only use the credit card on secure websites that begin with the 'https' code and not the 'http' code. S represents the security of the website. Also, you should look for safety icons like a 'lock' on the websites to secure your transactions.
  • Never share your credit card details and PIN through emails or SMS.

Follow the tips provided diligently and secure yourself from financial loss.
