  • Click on the ‘Send OTP’ tab to get an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  • If you need a Masked Aadhar, then select the option ‘ Masked Aadhar.’
  • Enter the OTP you received to then click on the ‘Verify and Download’ tab
  • Once the verification is done, a PDF Version of the Aadhar Card will be sent to the download folder, which will be password protected.
  • The password to open the PDF file will be the first four letters of your Name in capitals as mentioned in the Aadhar Card, followed by the year of birth (YYYY)

Steps for Aadhar Card Download Online with Enrolment Number

If you do not remember your Aadhar Card Number or have not received your Aadhar Card, you still have an option for Aadhar Card Download Online with the Enrolment Number. Follow the steps given below for the download.

  • Visit the UIDAI official website i..e, E-Aadhar uidai.gov.in.
  • Choose the ‘Download AAdhar’ option.
  • Enter the 28 digit Enrolment Number and the Captcha that appears on the screen

The provision for Adhar Card Download with Virtual ID is the latest addition to the UIDAI online portal. You should follow the steps given below for Aadhar Card Download with Virtual ID.

  • Access the website E-Aadhar uidai.gov.in
  • Click on the ‘download Aadhar’ option.
  • From the dropdown menu, choose the VID (Virtual ID) option for download.
  • Enter the Virtual ID and the Captcha Code
  • Click on ‘Send OTP’ to receive OTP on your registered mobile.
  • Enter the OTP
  • e-Aadhar will be downloaded into your system.
  • The Aadhar is password-protected, and you can access it by entering the password.
  • The password will be the first four letters of your Name (as in the Aadhar database) in CAPs and the year of birth in YYYY format. 

Steps for e Aadhar download using the date of birth and Name

If you do not have the Aadhar Number, Enrolment Number or Virtual ID, you need not worry. The e-Aadhar can still be downloaded with the date of birth and Name. You can retrieve the enrolment number by following the steps given below and thereafter download the e-Aadhar through the UIDAI website.

  • Access the link https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve-eid-uid
  • Enter your Full Name. 
  • Then enter Email ID or registered mobile number and the Captcha Code
  • Click on the ‘Send OTP’ option
  • You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP and click on the ‘Verify OTP’ tab
  • You will get a message that the Aadhar Enrolment Number is sent to your Email ID or Registered Mobile Number.
  • You can then access the website e-Aadhar uidai.gov.in for e Aadhar download online.

Steps to download e Aadhar through Digilocker Account

The issuing, storage, verification as well as sharing of certificates and documents in digital form is enabled through a cloud platform, i.e., Digi locker. Designated registered organisations provide the e-copies of the documents or certificates to the Digi lockers that are allotted to the cardholders. UIDAI, in collaboration with Digilocker, has made access to Digilocker possible to cardholders by linking Aadhar to the Digilocker Account. You can download the Aadhar from Digilocker by following the steps given below

  • You can access your Digilocker Account through https://digilocker.gov.in/ 
  • Click on the ‘Sign in’ tab and enter your 12-digit Aadhar Number
  • To get OTP, you should click on the ‘Verify’ tab
  • Enter the OTP you recieved on your registered mobile number and click on ‘Verify OTP.’
  • The message ‘Issued Document’ will appear on the screen.
  • Click on the ‘Save’ Icon to download E-Aadhar.

Umang App-the e Aadhar download App 

You can download e Aadhar using the e Aadhar download App, i.e., Umang App, by following the steps given below 
Download the Umang App.

  • Open the App and go to the Services option
  • Select ‘Aadhar Card’ under Services
  • Log in with your Aadhar Number or Digilocker Account
  • You will receive the OTP on the mobile number you registered with
  • Enter the OTP you recieved and click on the ‘Verify OTP’ tab
  • Click on the ‘Download’ tab to download E-Aadhar.

How to print an Aadhar card online?

By accessing the UIDAI official website, you can download the e Aadhar by using the Enrolment Number, Aadhar Number or the Virtual ID. You can also download the e Adhar through the Umang App on your mobile and through your Digilocker Account.

The E-Aadhar will be downloaded in PDF format and will be password protected. You can open the document by entering the password, which will be the first four letters of your Name in Caps (name as in the Aadhar database) followed by the year of birth in YYYY format.

Once the downloaded E-Aadhar is opened, you can take the Aadhar card print.

You cannot download Aadhar without a registered mobile number, i.e., you cannot download Aadhar without OTP. But you can take the printout of the Aadhar with the procedure given below.

  • Visit the nearest Aadhar Service Centre
  • Give biometric details like iris scan or thumb verification.
  • You should also provide Proof of Address and Proof of Identity.
  • The concerned official will give you the printout of the Aadhar.
