What Does My SBI Credit Card Application Status Mean?

Once you’ve managed to successfully track your SBI credit card application status either through online or offline mode, you’ll be updated about the current status of your credit card application. But what exactly does your SBI credit card application status mean? Here’s a quick look to help you understand what your SBI credit card application status indicates:

In-Process:

The application status which mentions ‘In-Process’ means that your credit card application is still under scrutiny. The bank has neither accepted nor rejected your credit card application. It will take some more time to process it. SBI credit card approval takes 7-15 days.

Approved:

The application status can be marked as ‘Approved’. This means that your credit card application has been approved but still not dispatched.

Dispatched:

The credit card application with a ‘Dispatched’ status means that your credit card is on its way! Your credit card has been dispatched to the registered mailing address. It will reach you within 21 days. You will receive an SMS mentioning the expected date of delivery. The credit card will be handed over to the applicant only after validating identity by showing original identity proof.

On-Hold:

You might also get an ‘on-hold status on your credit card application. This usually means that the document verification has failed or the bank needs a few more documents to validate your application. In this case, the bank representative will get in touch with you to collect the required documents to process the application further.

Declined/Rejected:

A credit card application that marks a ‘Rejected’ status means that the bank has disapproved your credit card request. This is typical because the eligibility criterion is not fulfilled. You can get in touch with SBI customer care to know the exact reason for ineligibility. You can now re-apply only after 3 months.

No Record Found:

In case you get a ‘No Record Found’ against your credit card application, it means you’ve started tracking the application a little too soon. Start credit card application tracking at least 3 days after submission of application. Alternatively, the information used to track or retrieve the credit card status is not the same as mentioned in the credit card application. Cross-check the details entered and try again.
