Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman launched PM Aatmnirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana in addition to National Health Mission. Rs. 64,180 crore to be invested in health infrastructure over the 6 years. This will develop capacity of primary, secondary and third sherry of the health system. It will give new strength to existing health systems of our nation and plan to create new institutions to cater the detection and the cure of a new and emerging disease. PM Swasth Bharat Yojana is an addition to the national health mission.

PM Atmnirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana is a government sponsored scheme that aims at improving primary, secondary, and tertiary care health systems, strengthening existing national institutions, creating new institutions, catering to detection and cure of new and emerging diseases in India.
This scheme aims to support 17,788 rural and 11,024 urban Health & Wellness Centers, establish integrated public health labs in every district, strengthen the National Centre for Disease Control, its 5 regional branches & 20 metropolitan health surveillance units, establish 9 Bio-Safety Level III laboratories, and 4 regional National Institutes of Virology.
