PM Narendra Modi Extends Lockdown Till May 3, Shares 7 Points to Follow at Home

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced extension of COVID19 Lockdown till May 3, 2020. In his address to the nation, Modi has commended Indian population for its patience in abiding by lockdown rules to fight against the Corona virus pandemeic.

The PM said, amid darkness spread by the outbreak of corona pandemic, we need to continuously progress towards light and hope. He further added, India has excelled in containing the Corona spread to a great extent.

Continuing our battle, we will ensure more stringent follow-up of lockdown guidelines till April 20 across the country, in every district & region so as to ensure no new case of Corona said the PM. The guidelines may be relaxed post April 20, basis the results of stricter lockdown.

PM acknowledged the adverse impact of the lockdown on the economy, though he said the life of Indians is more expensive than the cost of financial disruptions. Modi urged countrymen to stay united and help the daily wagers, the most affected section of society. With mutual support we can let the baton of hope stay illuminated for all.

The government will release the guidelines for #Lockdown2 by tomorrow. The Prime Minister concluded his speech with 7 actionable steps to follow at home:

  1. Take care of elders at home.
  2. Follow social distancing strictly.
  3. Use homemade face covers and masks.
  4. Enhance Immunity. Use home remedies & Download Aaragyasetu mobile app.  
  5. Be gracious & help the needy. Provide food to poor.
  6. Retain jobs of your workers. Extend financial support.
  7. Have respect & gratitude for the front line warriors in the war against Coronavirus, i.e. doctors, nurses, and sanitation workers.
